W Amsterdamie odbyła się doroczna gala MTV Europe Music Awards 2013. I jak zwykle nie obyło się bez skandalu: Miley Cyrus, odbierając wyróżnienie za teledysk roku zapaliła na scenie jointa. Nie popisała się też zgromadzona publiczność, kompletnie ignorując apel Jareda Leto o minutę ciszy dla ofiar tajfunu na Filipinach.
1/12W tym roku najwięcej nominacji mieli na koncie Justin Timberlake i hiphopowy duet Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (po pięć). W czołówce byli też Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus i Robin Thicke (po cztery)
